What is Northern Tier?
Northern Tier is a National BSA High Adventure Camp. We had one crew that went on a nine day canoeing trek. We will start by traveling to base camp in Bissett, Manatoba, Canada, and then fly via a float plane into a canoe cache in the Atikaki Provincial Park. We will be canoeing in North America’s Canoe Country, a vast series of navigable lakes and rivers spanning thousands of square miles. This Country includes waterfalls and bogs, bears and wolves, granite crags and waist-deep mud. We will go on unique treks through the various waterways, including canoeing, swimming, fishing, and great camping.
Who is eligible to go to Northern Tier?
- Must be 14 years old by the time we leave, or 13 and completed 8th grade;
- Must be over 100 lbs; and
- Must be Star rank or above.
